Staircase types are many and varied, they can be chosen to match the style of your project. Below are some popular examples, although any combination of these can be used or incorporated to suit your wishes.
CLOSED RISER There are riser boards between each tread, this is normally used if the stair is going to be closed so the underside is not visible.
OPEN RISER There is a gap between each tread allowing you to see through underneath.
CUT STRING The stringer is cut out in the shape of the treads and riser.
HOUSED STRING The stringer is routed out to hold the treads and risers. You can't see the line of the treads and risers from the side.
CONCEALED STRING There is no visible stringer, giving a very modern look.
STEEL Combinations of timber and steel are also available.
